Today suggestion is an Israeli movie: Footnote (IMDB)
It's the kind of very particular movie not many may will find even remotely interesting. It sounds corny 'it's about the relation between father and son' nerdy 'who are both in the academic world', and damn niche 'of Talmudic studies'. Wait more... it's about publications, scientific ones, and academic community acknowledgment of own work. Beautiful uh? You slept even through these few lines, right?
But you are wrong if you think this movie will bore you, it is well acted, accurately scripted and exceptionally directed. You won't regret if you will watch it, because at the end it is all about our humanity, even in biblical studies, it is about our need to be accepted, understood and welcome in larger communities, it is about lifelong achievements and human relations.
Both my nerdy wife and me enjoyed it. We recommend it!
